Interventional Vascular Technologist

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a skilled Interventional Vascular Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Job Summary:As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will acquire all imaging and post-processing of images, adhere to state, local, and federal licensing regulations, and provide emergency on-call assistance.
Responsibilities:- Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
- Establish effective working relationships and utilize a team approach to process improvement.
- Perform duties in instances where normal, routine practice cannot be applied, often in high-stress situations.
- Position patients to obtain radiographic exposure, adjust exposure factors, and process images.
- Adapt imaging and therapeutic procedures with professional judgment to improve diagnostic quality and therapeutic outcome.
- Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS.
- Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Immediately report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS billing via RIS.
- Record and maintain procedural data, including injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time, and procedural information.
- Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effect timely repair.
- Teach and instruct students and new hires.
- Learns new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in good standing.
- Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography: R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology: R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT) preferred.
- Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Minimum one year experience as a radiologic technologist preferred. Preference given to previous experience in a high-volume angiography department.
Physical Requirements:Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
