At Jobot, we're seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our team. As an Insurance Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a caseload from start to finish, overseeing all aspects of file handling and deposition.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing expert legal defense in a variety of insurance claims, including personal injury, property damage, worker's compensation, and construction defect.
- Managing all aspects of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, court appearances, jury trials, and mediation.
- Conducting thorough and detailed investigations into claims, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing medical records, and analyzing case law.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Collaborating with clients, claim professionals, underwriting, risk management, and other attorneys in our firm to ensure a coordinated and effective defense strategy.
- Keeping clients informed of case progress and legal developments, advising clients on legal risks and strategies, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Illinois state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
- Proven track record of successfully defending insurance claims in court.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
