Forklift Operator II Job Description

Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator II is a critical role within NFI Industries, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment in our warehouse environment. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry, and reach equipment to stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner, meeting customer service standards.
  • Move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
  • Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Conduct cycle counts as requested.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Ability to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building without limitations.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions:

The Forklift Operator II will work in a warehouse environment with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation. The ability to access all areas of the building without limitations is required.
