Facility Highlights

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is renowned for its excellence in cardiac care, recognized as one of the top facilities in Virginia. Our Cardiac Surgical ICU is a 20-bed unit where nurses provide care for patients recovering from major cardiac surgeries, including CABG, valve repairs, and heart transplants.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in this unit, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments and admissions
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a valid RN license in Virginia or be Compact/Multi-State Eligible. A minimum of one year of IMCU or two years of Med/Surg experience is preferred.

Education Requirements

Applicants should have a Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nursing. All Direct Care RNs are required to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
