Job Title: Personal Care Attendant

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Personal Care Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for attending to the daily living and safety needs of our participants, working closely with our licensed nursing associates to provide high-quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to participants, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist participants with activities of daily living, such as feeding, ambulation, and other activities.
  • Respond to participant requests and needs, and obtain assistance as necessary.
  • Perform non-sterile procedures and other tasks as assigned to support participant care.
  • Ensure participant comfort, safety, and well-being at all times.
  • Collect and record data and activity information on participant care forms.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for participant care.
  • Respond to call lights and fulfill participant requests promptly.
  • Maintain clinical and age-specific competencies as defined for the assigned unit.
  • Provide participant instruction on safety factors and recovery plans.
  • Clean and straighten participant surroundings to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Contribute to maintaining an orderly and clean participant care unit.
  • Observe participants for changes in condition and report to nursing staff as necessary.
  • Provide homemaking services, including meal preparation and serving, according to participant nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks as outlined on the participant care plan.
Requirements
  • Comparable participant care experience, including skills such as TPR, BP, bed bath, and ADL.
  • High School diploma/GED and ability to read, write, and understand verbal or written instructions.
  • 1 year of personal or employment experience providing care or services for a frail or elderly population.
  • Completion of food handler training and certification upon hire or within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR certification upon hire required.

  • Must be able to work required schedule.
  • Requires physical strength to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Occasional travel between sites, nursing/group homes, and to members' homes required.
  • Requires use of personal vehicle.
  • Requires valid driver's license.
  • Requires proof of automobile insurance coverage at the following minimum amounts in order to be reimbursed for mileage.
  • May require use of personal cell phone for business purposes (may be eligible for stipend).
