Job Summary

Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the nurse manager or Registered Professional Nurse, you will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
  • You will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeons.
  • You will ensure quality patient care during operative procedures and maintain sterile technique.
  • You will check supplies and equipment prior to surgical procedures.
  • You will scrub, set up, count, and assist intra-operatively.
  • You will maintain the highest standard of sterile technique.
  • You will assist the surgeon and RN with post-procedure care.
  • You will handle specimens appropriately.
  • You will prepare instruments for decontamination.
  • You will assist with preparing/picking OR cases.
  • You will follow WPH policies and procedures for Infection Control and Fire Code.
  • You will identify malfunctioning equipment appropriately.
  • You will follow patient safety standards.
  • You will respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • You will complete competency requirements.
  • You will attend all mandatory in-services.
  • You will utilize cost containment practices.

Requirements

  • You must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • You must meet one of the following:
    • Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited program and hold and maintain CST certification.
    • Completed a military surgical technology program.
    • Grandfathered.
    • Is in the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service.
  • Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
  • Certification by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization is required.
