Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations regarding medication usage and provide consultations and recommendations to prescribers as needed.
- Maintain compliance with clinical objectives and guidelines for our pharmacy prior authorization program.
- Assess new treatment options and methodologies to identify trends and address care gaps.
- Review prior authorization requests for clinical relevance and precision.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- An active Pharmacist license (PharmD) in Maryland.
- A minimum of three years of experience in formulary support, prior authorization, benefits design, and clinical information.
- Expertise in clinical pharmacy and drug product knowledge.
- Previous experience in prospective and retrospective drug utilization review.
- Experience in intravenous infusion and compounding.
- Experience in supporting call center prior authorization programs.
Specialized Training
It is essential to have specialized training in psychotropic medications.
