The Senior Financial Officer in the healthcare sector is tasked with supervising and directing the financial operations associated with healthcare services.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Accounting Manager and team to ensure the effective execution of daily financial tasks, which includes managing various accounting systems that contribute to the general ledger, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions.
Actively engage in the monthly and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring that all financial statements and supporting documents are completed accurately and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Participate in monthly activities that may encompass:
- Journal entries
- Account reconciliations
- Issuance of billing statements
- Revenue and expense analysis
- Bank reconciliations
- Fixed asset reporting
- Trial balance compilation
- Account analysis
Commit to meeting month-end close cycle deadlines and fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Ensure timely completion of all month-end control account reconciliations (e.g., A/R and A/P) that align with supporting ledgers within the close cycle.
Support and engage in the annual financial audit process.
Interaction and CommunicationProvide necessary information and respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants to assist in the preparation for annual audits and other periodic reporting.
QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
Experience in the healthcare or non-profit sectors is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with advanced skills in Excel.
A motivated self-starter and team player, capable of managing multiple deliverables within specified timeframes independently.
Ability to effectively communicate the status of deliverables and workload to leadership, while also maintaining daily communication with team members and senior management.
