Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough physical exams, obtain medical histories, and record findings to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans.
  2. Administer medications and injections in compliance with state laws and clinic guidelines, and may suture minor lacerations.
  3. Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and health and illness prevention, and recommend community resources to meet patient needs.
  4. Collaborate with physicians to manage patient care, provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits, and maintain accurate patient records.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strictest confidentiality standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSN or MSN degree, with successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
  • A minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
  • A valid RN license for the state of North Carolina.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a combination of exam rooms and medical offices, with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

You will be required to stand and walk for extensive periods, occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and work under stress in emergencies and irregular hours.
