Job Title: Addictions Counselor

Job Summary:

The Addictions Counselor will provide substance use counseling and treatment services to women and their families, utilizing the ASAM Criteria to tailor their approach to meet the diverse needs of clients. This role requires a deep understanding of addiction treatment and a commitment to our organization's values of empathy, dignity, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and evaluations as assigned.
  2. Facilitate group therapy sessions, individual counseling, and educational/support groups as scheduled.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans with each participant.
  4. Document participant's participation in all scheduled groups and counseling sessions.
  5. Complete discharge summaries on all participants.
  6. Ensure that all charting and participant records comply with accreditation requirements.
  7. Provide communication with referral sources and stakeholders as needed.
  8. Attend training required for professional certification and to meet program licensing standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification or certifiable at CAC or LAC level for addiction counseling in the state of South Dakota.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
