Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our team of scientists and technicians in providing analytical testing services to clients across various industries. As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laboratory operations, maintaining workflow efficiency, and supervising staff to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to laboratory staff to ensure compliance with quality assurance, ethics, safety, and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve laboratory functionality, workflow efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and mentor laboratory staff to achieve high-quality results and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Coordinate and conduct analytical and operational training for laboratory staff.
  • Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal, asbestos, and bacteria analysis.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding laboratory services and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify client needs and develop new testing services to meet those needs.
  • Coordinate laboratory operations to minimize costs, scheduling conflicts, and delays.
  • Review and modify group schedules based on current and projected workloads and staffing.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through direct interaction and communication.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, morale, and safety within the laboratory.
  • Establish and maintain an active and positive safety culture and ensure compliance with Employee Health and Safety procedures.
  • Review and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and defensible data.
  • Support the Human Resources function to ensure consistent application of policies and programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Strong professional background in working with TEM and Asbestos Samples.
