In this role, you will be responsible for initiating, funding, balancing, and finalizing escrow files while collaborating with sellers, buyers, lenders, and realtors throughout the closing stages.
Your key responsibilities will encompass the preparation of essential documents, title clearance, ordering beneficiary statements, and the disbursement of funds related to property expenses.
Additionally, you will assess the necessary legal deeds required to finalize transactions and ensure that all involved parties have accurately signed and filed the requisite closing documents.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in real estate closings as an escrow officer, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the transaction process.
Furthermore, you should exhibit strong mathematical skills to accurately compute interest, taxes, and commissions.
Key Responsibilities of the Escrow Officer:
- Prepare closing documents for real estate transactions
- Clear titles efficiently
- Order beneficiary statements and demands
- Oversee the disbursement of property-related expenses
- Identify the appropriate legal deed required for transactions, ensuring proper signing, notarization, and public record filing
- Demonstrate expertise in drafting necessary documentation for seller financing when applicable
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Coordinate with the buyer's lender to facilitate loan funding for closing
- Assist with administrative tasks, including answering calls and scheduling appointments
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (mandatory)
- Post-secondary education (preferred)
- Five or more years of experience in the real estate closing process
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations
