Position Overview: The Food Service Worker I-ELEM plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and efficient food service environment within the educational setting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensuring cleanliness of dining areas, furniture, food storage facilities, and kitchen equipment.
- Operating dishwashing machines and sanitizing trays, dishes, utensils, and other food service tools.
- Assisting in the organization of food preparation areas.
- Heating, preparing, and serving meals to students and staff.
- Cleaning and properly storing kitchen appliances after use.
- Supporting food preparation tasks such as sandwich making, salad mixing, cheese grating, and fruit and vegetable cutting.
- Handling cash transactions, including balancing receipts and maintaining basic financial records.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of standard food preparation techniques for large groups.
- Familiarity with common kitchen appliances and tools.
- Basic arithmetic skills and ability to maintain simple records.
