A skilled Licensed Practical Nurse is sought to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting. As a key member of the hematology/oncology team, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Administer nursing care using sound judgment and skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
- Monitor and record physiological measurements, perform EKGs, and provide treatment to patients per organizational protocols.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, therapeutic measures, procedures, and lab orders.
- Triaging patients, monitoring Cerner clinical pool, and handling provider messages.
- Administering injections, planning patient care, and counseling patients and their families.
- Responsible for strict administration, control, and dispensation of prescription medication.
- Notifying providers of unusual reactions and changes in conditions.
- Performing Surgical Scheduler duties as needed and initiating patient referrals and insurance authorization.
- Safeguarding equipment and supplies, following Universal Precautions, and participating in performance improvement activities.
- Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience preferred.
- Graduate degree from an accredited licensed practical nurse program required.
- Current New York State LPN license and maintenance of current CPR for HealthCare Workers or BCLS certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
