About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Duke University. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with head and neck cancer, with a focus on surgical reconstruction, post-radiation impairments, and trismus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer speech language pathology evaluations and treatment plans
  • Provide evidence-based evaluation and treatment to diverse, medically challenging patient populations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote best patient care standards
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and peer review processes
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program
  • Previous medical setting experience preferred, although other relevant clinical experience considered
  • NC License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
Preferred Qualifications
  • Documentation of training in the areas of trismus and manual therapy/myofascial release
  • Documentation of competency in FEES (i.e. Supervised scope passes on normal patients)
