Dental Hygienist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Tejas Health Care. As a key member of our oral health care team, you will be responsible for providing direct provision of oral hygiene and preventive services to our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide clinical services, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, and fluoride application.
- Assist in the oral health management of all clinic patients.
- Obtain baseline oral hygiene assessment data and record patient-hygienist transactions in the patient's dental record.
- Provide oral health education and individual counseling for all dental patients.
- Integrate patient dental hygiene care with other health care professionals involved in patient health care management.
- Perform independent procedures as delegated and directed by the Tejas Dentist.
- Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials and comply with the clinic's Exposure Control Plan.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and THC rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills required.
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required.
- Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
- One (1) year of practice experience as a Dental Hygienist.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification.
- Unrestricted license to practice Oral Hygiene in the State of Texas.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye/hand coordination. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
