Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Manager to oversee a team of 10-15 maintenance technicians in keeping our Distribution Center maintained and running.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager DC Facilities and be responsible for ensuring projects are completed within deadlines, providing coaching and development to team members, and identifying and diagnosing problems with equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review work requests and respond or assign to team members to ensure projects are completed within deadlines
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development to team members to create an environment that promotes growth and safety
  • Identify and diagnose problems with equipment, building, and system failures, including automation and robotic equipment
  • Make recommendations to improve performance, efficiencies, and safety of Operational Equipment
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to create preventative maintenance schedules and work assignments
  • Partner with Operations and other departments within Grainger and with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to limit impact on operations

Requirements

  • Experience leading a team of maintenance technicians
  • Five years experience in large warehouse or distribution center maintenance operations
  • Experience maintaining building management systems and automated material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of Fire Protection systems, Electrical controls and distribution
