About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead our survey team and contribute to the success of our projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing survey crews, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, and maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage survey crews, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work, ensuring efficient use of resources and equipment.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Utilize survey equipment to collect and record data, including topographic surveys, boundary retracement surveys, and construction staking.
  • Perform field research and retracement for boundary surveys, under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
  • Maintain accurate and complete field notes, data collection, and sketches.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, state regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and train survey crew members on survey principles and procedures.
  • Provide input for performance evaluations of survey crew members.
  • Obtain and maintain FAA part 107 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot's license, as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Land survey education preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of survey experience, including topographic surveys, boundary retracement surveys, and construction staking.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and make project-related supervisory decisions.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and proficiency in using survey equipment.
  • Familiarity with State Plane Coordinate Systems.
  • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to new processes and technology.
  • Ability to interpret survey maps, documents, and plans.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and use survey equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and travel for project locations.
