Job DescriptionThis role requires performing routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment using industry-standard methods and procedures while maintaining vehicle maintenance records. Ensuring safe and productive operation of all equipment by scheduling and completing preventive maintenance in compliance with state, federal, local, and corporate guidelines; reviewing all D.V.I.R. reports and performing repairs as needed. Diagnosing and repairing operational difficulties with vehicles and equipment, including heavy diesel, gas, and electrically operated units. Completing reports, work orders, and ordering parts while performing other daily administrative duties, and assisting in reviewing mechanical write-ups to coordinate repair schedules. Ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations; utilizing a variety of power and hand tools, conforming to applicable laws and company policies, and assuming leadership in the absence of the Supervisor/Manager. Occasionally working in high precarious places. Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Completion of DOT certification for air brake inspection and adjustment and annual vehicle inspections
- Possess two years of practical experience in heavy truck repair
- Complete all company provided/sponsored technical training and continuing education programs
- Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English
