Position Summary:

The Structural Steel Erector is responsible for the assembly and installation of structural and miscellaneous steel components. This role includes welding and limited millwright tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload, organize, and prepare steel materials for installation.
  • Assemble steel columns, beams, and bar joists.
  • Install materials accurately while adhering to job-specific tolerances.
  • Perform welding and bolting of connections as per specifications.
  • Install roof and floor edge angles and bent plates.
  • Integrate miscellaneous structural steel components such as braces, support channels, and hangers.
  • Layout and install roof and floor framing systems.
  • Execute welding of moment connections.
  • Align and secure structural steel members for permanent installation.
  • Install bridging within bar joists.
  • Set and secure metal roof and floor decking.
  • Install precast concrete hollow core planks.
  • Construct steel stair stringers, metal pans, guardrails, and handrails.
  • Assemble amusement ride catwalks and handrails.
  • Install ladders, railings, grating, and other miscellaneous steel items.
  • Implement cable rail fall protection systems.
  • Provide accurate signaling to equipment operators.
  • Utilize cutting and welding equipment for steel modifications.
  • Adhere to safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in rigging is essential.
  • Mechanical aptitude for millwright functions is necessary.
  • Combination of education and experience that equips the candidate with the necessary skills.
  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Ability to work at heights without fear.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, including overnight stays.
  • Dependable attendance and consistency are required.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions.
  • Capability to read specifications and blueprints for material requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
