The Registered Nursing (RN) position at Sentara Health is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Observation Unit. As a member of our team, you will be expected to demonstrate a competent level of nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and documenting patient information.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, identifying their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Develop and implement effective plans of care, taking into account patient preferences and goals.
- Monitor patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia or compact multi-state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Associate's degree in nursing or higher.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical or observation unit setting.
