Patient Advocate Representative

Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions is seeking a skilled Patient Advocate Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for screening self-pay patients at hospital bedside for eligibility in various governmental and non-governmental programs. You will identify all sources of potential payors, including auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, and more, to route accounts appropriately in the Patient Accounting environment. Additionally, you will obtain and complete the Confidential Financial Statement form and assist patients in applying for benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interviews with patients and/or family members to determine eligibility for programs.
- Record and maintain complete documentation of activities performed on account while in-house and during the Patient accounting cycle.
- Perform financial clearance functions, including collections, and cancel accounts that have not had patient cooperation and are not eligible for programs.
- Follow up on EES assigned accounts to ensure follow-through on government applications submitted.
- Develop a working relationship with patients based on good communication skills, enabling accounts to be processed quickly with government program eligibility.
- Conduct field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and assisting patients with documents.
- Working familiarity with Federal, State, and County program rules and regulations.
- P/C systems literacy, including Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with efficiency.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a clear understanding of the English language.
- Detail-oriented, with strengths in dealing with multiple facilities, supervisors, and hospital platforms.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with efficiency.
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
- Competitive hourly rate of $29.50.
- Shift differentials of $1.00-$2.50 per hour may be available depending on the shift worked.
- Conifer observed holidays receive time and a half.
