Job Title: Sleep Lab Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Sleep Lab Coordinator to join our team at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health.

Job Summary:

The Sleep Lab Coordinator will assist providers and manage clinical functions in the department. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist providers with set up of Sleep Lab testing and education for patients
  • Address and handle all tasks, including scheduling follow-up appointments and entering referral information into the Practice Management System
  • Notify patients of test results and instructions from providers
  • Handle sleep lab calls for the office and distribute, review, and teach patient education
  • Assist patients with mask fitting and use, teach patient to operate and adjust CPAP and BiPAP machines
  • Prepare referrals and obtain authorizations for Managed Care patients per provider
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate sleep lab visits, and notify patients of appointments
  • Forward clinical data to treating providers and/or facilities
  • Use approved web tools to obtain authorizations and notify providers and staff of changes in the referral process or insurance requirements
  • Enter referral authorization information into Practice Management System and maintain updated network information
  • Coordinate admissions with providers and facilities, manage incoming and outgoing referrals for the lab, and acquire all medical records necessary for visit
  • Ensure all ordered tests have been performed and results are present, follow protocol of getting reports back to Referring providers, and follow protocols for set up and reporting of the Inspire testing
  • Manage all DME orders, assist in the ordering of DME items related to sleep, and coordinate with each DME provider to ensure they take the patient's insurance and all necessary documentation is sent at the time of the ordered
  • Work with DME companies on any issues with equipment or patients, complete the end of day processes, and maintain medical equipment, ensuring all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized, and charged
  • Collect red bags as necessary, monitor and replace sharps containers when needed, stock exam rooms and sleep lab, clean and sanitize exam rooms and sleep lab, and log off of all workstations including exam rooms
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Completion of MA certification program preferred
  • Strong team player
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical office setting working with authorizations
