Job Summary:

Reynolds Community College is seeking a qualified Opticianry Adjunct to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Teach opticianry courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and success.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to ensure students meet course objectives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in opticianry or a related teaching field.
• Certification from the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO-NCLE) is required dependent upon content of assigned courses.
• Minimum of 2 years occupational experience in opticianry.
• Ability to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related teaching field.
• Classroom and online laboratory teaching experience.
• Demonstrated teaching and hands-on competencies in opticianry.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations.
• Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications.
