Seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Captain to join our team at United Therapeutics, a pioneering biotech company dedicated to finding cures for pulmonary arterial hypertension and other life-threatening diseases. As a Captain, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability in our company aircraft flights.

  • This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description

The Captain will provide safe air transportation to company personnel and business associates while ensuring the smooth operation of company aircraft flights.

  • Perform the duties of the aircraft commander, including preparation of detailed flight plans and ensuring all aircraft systems and safety equipment are in working order.
  • Perform Instruction/Training Flights with UT personnel and ensure all passengers are briefed and prepared for flight.
  • Track and log all technical issues and complete standard flight documentation as required by the Director of Aviation.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience as a licensed commercial pilot, or an Associate's Degree with at least 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years experience as a licensed pilot.
  • The ability to obtain ATP certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument certification.
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of flight time, with 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command, and 1,000 hours flight time as Pilot in Command in a PC12.
  • Understanding of domestic/international rules and regulations.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, knowledge of in-flight safety, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Polite and personable communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, and preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work alone or with a team.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • ATP certified.
  • Experience with PC 12 NG or NGX.
