Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fieldwork for civil engineering, construction, and general surveying projects, including topographic surveys, ALTA boundary surveys, Right of Way assessments, As-built surveys, Flood Elevation Certificates, and Lot Surveys.
- Maintain precise notes, records, and sketches to accurately document work performed.
- Set stakes at specified locations and secure them in the ground.
- Utilize and care for equipment, including tablet computers, digital cameras, survey-grade GPS, robotic total stations, and various measuring tools.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, deadlines, and budget constraints.
- Execute staking calculations and develop exhibits as required.
- Assist in the training and development of junior staff members when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Professional Land Surveying License in the State of Iowa.
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering plans and construction documents, as well as correspondence and memos.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as per our insurance provider's standards.
- Willingness to work approximately 95% of the time in the field.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and traverse various terrains while carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Some overnight travel may be necessary.
