Job Summary
As a Physician Assistant in our Emergency Medicine department at Prisma Health, you will work under the supervision of a physician to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your expertise will be essential in providing treatment, referrals, and follow-up care to patients in need.Key Responsibilities
- Health History and Physical Exams
- Conduct thorough health histories and physical exams to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Diagnostic Testing and Interpretation
- Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, and contrast studies with physician approval.
- Treatment Planning and Medication Management
- Formulate and carry out treatment plans, prescribing medication in accordance with state licensing laws and medical guidelines.
- Emergency Care and Procedures
- Provide emergency care to prevent loss of life, limb, or eyesight, and institute emergency procedures in accordance with level of training.
- Collaboration and Support
- Support clinic function by participating in policy development, operational improvement, and the implementation of policies and improvements.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant program approved by an accredited medical body such as CAHEA, American Medical Association, or the Association of Medical Colleges.
- Experience
- No previous experience required.
