Job Overview

Commerce Studios is on the lookout for a skilled Producer with a background in creating tape features and live segments.

The Producer will be responsible for orchestrating the intricate details of complex shoots, scripting tape feature segments, and producing live segments across various NBC News brands and platforms.

This role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments, both internally and externally, ensuring the success of all project stakeholders.

The Commerce Studios team comprises producers, photographers, and designers committed to delivering shoppable segments across our linear and digital platforms, as well as crafting graphics and original photography for our commerce content.

A passion for shoppable content and a keen awareness of current trends are highly encouraged, along with the capability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and details.

The Producer must employ creativity to showcase brands, entrepreneurs, financial literacy insights, and products while upholding the editorial integrity of NBC News and adhering to all journalistic standards and practices.

Ideal candidates will possess a creative vision, a passion for production, storytelling, and the discovery of new brands and products that enhance viewers' daily experiences.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate logistics for intricate shoots and live commerce content for the NBC News portfolio.
  • Conduct pre-interviews, scout locations, script tape and live segments, and ensure all editing elements are captured.
  • Collaborate with graphic artists and editors to bring segments to life for broadcast.
  • Work alongside commerce HQ, Partnerships, Legal & Standards, and other teams within NBCU.
  • Research, test, and pitch products for various platforms.
  • Act as a liaison with external contacts, such as PR firms, for product inquiries and collaborate with internal departments like the Design Team for prop requirements.
  • Manage designated special projects, book guests as necessary, and creatively solve problems.
  • Adhere to detailed procedures regarding internal tracking documents for various projects, segments, and research materials.
