Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team at UW Medical Center - Montlake. As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage life-sustaining therapies, such as ventilators and IV medications.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN, with at least 3 years of experience at a teaching hospital.
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Unit Information
  • The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UW Medical Center - Montlake is a 54-bed level III unit that serves as a regional referral center for high-risk infants.
  • The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by a team of experienced healthcare professionals.
  • The majority of patients are very low birth weight premies requiring ventilatory support.
