Job Summary

Operate a single, tandem, or multi-axle configuration truck for delivery and pick-up of agronomy and energy products following specified time schedules to/from the company locations or customer locations to achieve profitable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily truck maintenance, including pre-trip inspections, checking fuel and oil levels, and inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products on trucks, trailers, and railcars by hand or forklift trucks.
  • Secure cargo and properly arrange and balance the distribution from the front of the trailer to the back and from side to side.
  • Check axle weights and load them in accordance with the DOT regulations.
  • Responsible for inventory and distribution of products.
  • Stocks and moves warehouse products and materials.
  • Pick up and safely transport goods in a timely manner to promote superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry.
  • Accurately complete, store, and submit all necessary documentation (bill of ladings, delivery slips, and invoices) and return to the branch location at the end of the day to ensure timely receipt and payment of invoices.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs (logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned record-keeping duties).
Requirements
  • A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required, as well as a CDL license with required endorsements and any other applicable certification, license, or permit, valid medical card, and satisfactory driving record, as applicable.
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions and communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.
  • Demonstrated time management and basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
Working Conditions

Occasionally exposed or required to extreme weather conditions, noisy conditions, working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures, may be required to work at varying heights, lift 51-70 lbs.
