Job Summary

This position is located in the Wetlands and Aquatic Research Center and is responsible for conducting research on aquatic and terrestrial species. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biology and experience with molecular tools such as environmental DNA, gene editing, and cell culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on aquatic and terrestrial species using innovative molecular tools.
  • Develop and implement research projects to address issues such as wildlife disease, invasive species management, and biodiversity conservation.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to advance the understanding of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
  • Communicate research findings through publications, presentations, and other means.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a directly related field of study.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equal to the next lower grade level.
  • Strong background in biology and experience with molecular tools such as environmental DNA, gene editing, and cell culture.
Working Conditions

The selected candidate will be required to operate a government-owned or -leased vehicle in the performance of their official duties. They will also be required to apply for a charge card within 30 calendar days of appointment.

Security Clearance

A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.
