Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular Recovery Nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a CV Recovery Nurse, you will provide pre/post nursing care to patients undergoing procedures within the Cath Lab.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre/post nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in the Cath Lab, including cardiac catheterizations and/or coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural Heart (LAAC, TAVR) procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care.
  • Assist patients through all aspects of the pre and post procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure(s), patient monitoring, hemostasis management following removal of catheter or sheath, return to inpatient room, or same day discharge.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.
Requirements
  • Current nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, bachelor's preferred.
  • PACU/CV Recovery experience required, ICU experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
