Job Overview

At Midland Credit Management, we're seeking an experienced Global Compensation Strategy Director to lead our compensation processes and support the deployment of our Total Rewards Strategy. As a key member of our team, you'll develop, implement, and administer MCM's global compensation strategy to ensure alignment of pay practices and the global compensation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compensation Program Development and Implementation: Manage the development, implementation, and administration of MCM's compensation program, ensuring its effectiveness and recommending changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends, best practices, and corporate objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage global compensation team members, ensuring strong performance and operational success, and administering performance reviews, coaching, and development activities as necessary.
  • Compensation Planning: Lead the planning and execution of Annual/Mid-year/Off-cycle Compensation Planning processes, performing analysis such as comp ratios and cost impact analysis to evaluate overall impact of proposals, working with HRBP teams and business stakeholders to ensure seamless processing in payroll systems and communication of rewards.
  • Compensation Benchmarking: In conjunction with Compensation team members, perform compensation benchmarking studies by working with consulting partners to submit survey information for compensation programs, receiving survey reports, and performing detailed data checks and analysis, providing data comparisons and insights to support Pay range development process.
  • Total Rewards Strategy Support: Perform analysis of compensation programs or related projects that support the Total Rewards Strategy, calculating costs and/or value of compensation programs such as base salary structures, Short-Term Incentive (STI), and Long-Term Incentive (LTI) analysis, using creativity and compensation best practices to design pay programs to meet the needs of the business.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage all related statutory compliances and track regulatory changes such as minimum wages, pay ratio, and pay equity, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations, providing advice and guidance to business stakeholders and HRBPs on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or quantitative field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant compensation and human capital management experience; people management experience required.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Advanced MS Office skills, project or process management tool experience, excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, strong business acumen, prioritization skills, ability to lead, manage, and develop a team with diverse talents and needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Advanced Degree: Human Resources, Business, or quantitative field.
  • Financial Services Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Certification: CCP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP certifications.
Location

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, California, requiring 3 days in office per week. We offer relocation assistance to support your move.
