Job Summary

A-C-T Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Field Technician to join our team. As an Environmental Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks required for industrial and environmental service operations, including tank cleaning, manual remediation services, waste bulking, drum handling, and demolition services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drum Processing and Industrial Cleaning: Process drums, perform industrial cleaning work, and participate in emergency response efforts.
  • Efficient and Safe Work Practices: Continuously work in an efficient and safe manner, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep work areas and break areas clean and organized.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Load and unload equipment, set up and break down equipment, and operate and maintain equipment for optimum safe performance and efficiency.
  • Industrial Settings: Work in industrial settings, including power plants, chemical plants, mining facilities, wastewater plants, manufacturing plants, and industrial facilities.
  • Manual Tools and Equipment: Use various manual tools and equipment to affect industrial cleaning operations.
  • Physical Demands: Work in potentially elevated noise levels, various temperature environments, and at different elevations, including work from mechanical lifts.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED, 2 years of experience in environmental, construction, and contracting related work (preferred).
  • OSHA Training: OSHA 40 Hour Training (preferred, but will train).
  • Physical Abilities: Specific vision abilities, lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 lbs, ability to climb ladders in heights of up to 200 feet, and exposure to extreme climate.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Proficient operation of heavy equipment, including hydraulic excavators, front end loaders, skid steers, mini-excavators, boom trucks, and all forklifts.
  • CDL Class Vehicles: Proficient operation of CDL class vehicles, including semi-truck/trailer, box truck, dump truck, roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, industrial loaders, and jet/combination vacuum trucks.
  • General Maintenance: General maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and work in a team-based environment.
