As a Critical Care Nurse at Omega Hospital, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and performing complex clinical procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide ongoing care and support.
- Administer medications, monitor patients' conditions, and document patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform Complex Clinical Procedures
- Perform mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuous renal replacement therapy, among other complex procedures.
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition, communicating with the healthcare team as needed.
- Ensure Patient and Family Satisfaction
- Ensure patients and families are informed about their care, treatment options, and progress.
- Educate patients and families about disease prevention and management, including lifestyle modifications and medication management.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements
- Adhere to all relevant standards, regulations, and policies, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training, maintaining current knowledge and skills.
- Education and Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing (BSN or ASN) from an accredited institution.
- Experience and Certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing or ICU experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Skills and Abilities
- Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Certifications and Experience
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or related specialty.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
- Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, and moving throughout the workday.
- Lifting and positioning patients, as needed.
- Pushing and pulling heavy equipment, such as ventilators and infusion pumps.
