Job Description

Program Overview

The Nurse Residency Pathway at Christus Health is a comprehensive program designed to transition recent nursing graduates or RNs with less than 6 months of work experience into the fast-paced hospital world with greater confidence, more comprehensive knowledge, and an enhanced set of skills.

Program Goals

  • To provide a supportive environment for nurses to develop their clinical skills and knowledge
  • To enhance patient care and safety through evidence-based practices
  • To foster a culture of nursing excellence and professionalism

Program Components

The Nurse Residency Pathway includes:

  • Interactive virtual classes taught by subject matter experts
  • One-on-one mentorship and precepting
  • Clinical performance tracking and evaluation
  • Access to a web-based suite of development applications for 24/7 learning

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a valid, unencumbered Texas license
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
