The University of California, Irvine invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Line (tenure track) series in an appropriate department in the School of Medicine. The position will be in the broad areas of human genomics and pangenomics.
Special emphasis is placed on areas of research in reference genomics and the sharing of human genomic data. This includes (but is not limited to) translating genomics to new clinical applications, international research, tool implementation and benchmarking, development of new methods, sequence production from new or existing samples, graph genome construction, and the bioethics and regulatory aspects of these activities.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD or an MD degree. Clinically active applicants must also be board certified in the state of California. We especially encourage creative and collaborative scientists who will use innovative strategies and combine different elements of computational biology and data science with ethical, legal and social research methods to apply.
