Role Overview
As we continue to expand, RISE is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Head of Systems Engineering and Integration to play a crucial role in the evolution of heavy-duty linear actuation and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to validate the performance and reliability of intricate electro-mechanical systems throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and implement departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing training, process optimization, and the establishment of best practices, fostering a culture that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
- Translate strategic business objectives from leadership into actionable goals for team members.
- Promote best practices in systems engineering and testing methodologies, identifying areas for innovation and efficiency to expedite product development timelines.
- Recruit, guide, and mentor a team of systems and test engineers, cultivating a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the creation of scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems that align with customer needs and business goals by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and design specifications.
- Implement automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance testing efficiency, partnering with operations teams to establish production testing protocols.
- Collaborate with hardware and software development teams to identify root causes of failures and propose design enhancements.
- Establish methods for reporting and analyzing product issues in both prototype and fielded environments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A BS or MS in engineering with over 10 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Prior experience as an individual contributor within a systems engineering and integration department.
- A strong grasp of machinery requirements and testing models that accurately reflect real-world performance.
- A proven track record of enhancing departmental performance through the implementation of best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, change management, and planning skills, with the ability to contribute as an individual when necessary.
- Experience in program management or operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Experience in a dynamic, high-tech startup environment.
- A background in mentoring and coaching team members.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Jira) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
