Role Summary:

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for addressing the needs of residents in various Senior Living Communities for designated shifts, which may vary based on the community's requirements. Your primary duty will be to provide compassionate and individualized support to residents in their daily activities.

Qualifications for Personal Care Assistant:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, geriatrics, or working with elderly individuals is advantageous.
  • A genuine desire to assist the geriatric population is essential.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance are required.
  • Completion of state-mandated training is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care support to communities within the assigned geographical area.
  • Comfortable driving distances as needed.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing and grooming.
  • Support residents in dressing appropriately and maintaining personal appearance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of residents' living spaces, including making beds and changing linens.
  • Assist residents with dining, including meal setup and feeding as necessary.
  • Adhere to medication administration protocols for each resident.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls.
  • Assist residents with toileting needs and maintain dignity and respect.
  • Monitor and report vital signs and any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness of mobility aids and personal care equipment.
  • Participate in the transport and engagement of residents in activities and appointments.
  • Uphold the dignity and privacy of each resident in accordance with their rights.
  • Engage in activity programming and care tailored to residents' needs.
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
  • Complete daily assignment sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow universal precautions and infection control protocols.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing schedules and assignments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including support in dining and housekeeping tasks.

Working Conditions:

This role requires standing for extended periods and effective communication with others. Employees must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, and occasional travel to various locations.
