Scientific Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientific Associate to join our research team at Acro Service Corporation in Johnston, IA 50131 USA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biological sciences and experience in molecular biology techniques.

In this role, you will assist with creating, executing, and scoring results supporting research needs, execute plant tissue culture work, assist with molecular biology tasks, document experimental details, and record pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications.

As a key member of our research team, you will work closely with experienced professionals to advance our research goals and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results supporting research team needs
• Execute plant tissue culture work, including aspects of plant transformation, plant propagation, and conducting analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed
• Assist with molecular biology tasks, as needed
• Document experimental details with ability to analyze data and interpret results
• Record pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications

Requirements

• A minimum of an Associate or Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, preferably with industry-related experience or equivalent amount of relevant education and experience
• Molecular biology experience, including techniques such as nucleic acid isolation methods, PCR experience, DNA vector construction, and gel electrophoresis
• Plant transformation experience in classroom or industry setting is highly desirable
• Problem-solving skills are required
• Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks is required
• Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills are required
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented person with excellent work ethics and time management

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
