Unit Overview: The 11th floor of Levine Children's Hospital is dedicated to pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant care. We cater to all pediatric patients, including young adults under the care of our pediatric specialists. Our unit comprises 16 hem/onc beds and 8 bone marrow transplant beds, along with a specialized MIBG suite. The ideal staffing ratio for hem/onc is 1:3/4, while for bone marrow transplant, it is ideally 1:2.
Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital (LCH) elevates community healthcare services to meet the needs of the growing pediatric population in our region. With 247 beds, LCH stands as the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC, catering to high-acuity patients. As the flagship children's hospital within Atrium Health, we offer a full range of over 125 pediatric subspecialists across more than 30 different specialties. Our facilities include 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit. LCH is also recognized as Charlotte's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, staffed by physicians trained in pediatric emergency medicine. For 16 consecutive years, LCH has been ranked among the Best Children's Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital have achieved Magnet re-designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program, highlighting excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
The RN Clinical Nurse I delivers professional nursing care through proficient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with facility or department policies, procedures, and protocols under the guidance of the nursing leader. This role includes maintaining a safe work environment and executing all job responsibilities safely. The RN is expected to uphold clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient population served.

Physical Requirements
This role involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds is required for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication. Candidates must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to concentrate are essential, as is the capacity to respond swiftly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing is a requirement.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required, with a BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory per policy guidelines. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required, or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, compliance with the licensure requirements in the home state is necessary; for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice.
