The Patient Registration Specialist serves as a crucial first point of contact for patients and their families. Through professionalism and dedication, this role ensures that patients receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to perform administrative tasks, including answering calls, scheduling appointments, and sending reminders.
  • Complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics and health information while verifying insurance eligibility, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Address inquiries from patients and caregivers with compassion and respect.
  • Organize and schedule services and appointments for initial visits or follow-ups.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient data and insurance benefits accurately.
  • Generate and analyze patient data reports, addressing any discrepancies with supervisors.
  • Assist with patient navigation within the facility and provide wheelchair transport when necessary.
  • Coordinate interpreter services as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and KPHC policies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while effectively communicating with all stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience in customer service or related fields with regular interaction with clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on compassionate customer engagement.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical customer service role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Bilingual in English and Keres native language.
  • Previous experience with Indian Health Services or Tribal Organizations.

Physical Demands:
