We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Lake Lodge Nursing & Rehabilitation. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating residents' conditions for swallowing or cognitive deficits, helping residents achieve their goals to improve cognition or swallowing, and providing skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments. You will also develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase clients' independence and functioning. Additionally, you will provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, and provide training and education to clients, family, caregivers, and other professionals. You will also coordinate and collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by physician, and communicate changes in residents' conditions. You will also provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation, and respond to family requests and concerns timely. You will also coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staff, and assure resident abuse or neglect does not occur. You will also observe confidentiality and safeguards for all patient information, and comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.

Requirements:

  • Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
  • SNF/Long term care experience preferred
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices
  • Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
