Clerical Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clerical Specialist - Accounting Services to join our team at Aledo ISD (TX). This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work under moderate supervision to maintain accurate accounting records, process accounts payable/receivable, and support other business office activities. You will be responsible for compiling data for various reports, maintaining physical and computerized departmental files, and performing routine bookkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile data for local, state, and federal reports
• Maintain physical and computerized departmental files
• Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including arithmetic operations
• Assist with data entry/recording of daily bank deposits and cash receipts
• Prepare bank deposits for monies received in the Business Department
• Receive and process accounts payable invoices, credit card statements, requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, and vendor information
• Match invoices with purchase orders to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Detect and resolve problems with incorrect orders, purchase orders, and invoices
• Contact district personnel and vendors to correct or obtain information needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• One year of accounting or financial setting experience, preferably in a public education environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret and disseminate information to individuals
• Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and file maintenance

Work Environment:

This position requires prolonged sitting, occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. You will also need to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
