Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of system-level concepts and designs that meet project and cost targets.
  • Interface with suppliers and prototype vendors to obtain quotes, make design changes, and execute project initiatives.
  • Create and modify detailed drawings, draft conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or discussions.
  • Support the definition of project scope and deliverables that align with project goals and strategies across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including Solidworks 3D models, 2D drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements.
  • Collaborate with OEMs on engineering cost reduction projects through all stages, including proposal, research, planning, engineering, and design handover to manufacturing.
  • Conduct failure analysis, determine causes and effects, document reliability and maintainability trends, and identify design improvements to prevent similar issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience in product or project development engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and/or power generation systems is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in designing electro-mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Experience in thermal dynamics, CFD, air flow analysis in power generation products is a plus.
  • Advanced user in Solidworks is a plus.
  • Experience with PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault is a plus.
  • Able to work outdoors for short periods of time, as required for projects.
  • Travel 15% of the time, as required.
