Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems, including instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in project management, research, and development. They will be responsible for leading R&D projects, coordinating interdepartmental and external research efforts, and representing the organization as the prime technical and R&D program contact.
The selected candidate will be expected to perform project execution, including project plans, communication, internal/external customer briefings, technical reviews, test plan development, and various other R&D-related activities. They will also be responsible for technology development and research in various emergent fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop mechanical products and systems
- Lead R&D projects and coordinate interdepartmental and external research efforts
- Represent the organization as the prime technical and R&D program contact
- Perform project execution, including project plans, communication, and technical reviews
- Develop and implement technology solutions in various emergent fields
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5 years of relevant exempt experience
- Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Preferred Skills:
- Practical experience in production areas supporting CVNs, VCS, or CLB
- Engineering knowledge gained through new construction engineering, overhaul engineering, or facilities engineering
- Waterfront engineering and/or waterfront experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated technical capability and ability to work in a team environment
