Job Description:

A Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting. This position involves caring for patients with acute and chronic needs, prioritizing their needs, and responding to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records.
  • Conduct pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitate timely billing by completing necessary documentation.
  • Provide patient education as directed, and report significant changes in patient condition to the Physician.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and interventions, and maintain examination and treatment areas.
Requirements:
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience, or current RN/LPN license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.
