We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at The Waterford in Tsawwassen. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our residents' rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean and disinfect residents' rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces on a scheduled basis
- Vacuum carpet and clean interior windows in resident suites and common areas as assigned
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, wash floors, make beds, and take linens to laundry
- Prepare cleaning solutions and utilize cleaning supplies in accordance with established procedures and safe practices
- Ensure furniture is arranged to provide a safe and efficient environment
- Check and restock laundry supplies as required
- Ensure laundry equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe and efficient manner
- Report unsafe or faulty equipment to the Manager
- Ensure health, safety, and hygiene practices/procedures are adhered to and assist in maintaining quality assurance standards
- Deliver laundered linens to residents' rooms
- Maintain a current knowledge of and comply with Bria policies and procedures
- Comply with all WHMIS requirements
- Minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge about the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment required
- Must be physically and mentally able to carry out the assigned duties with minimum supervision
- Must possess the qualities and attitude that respects and maintains the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the residents
- Must be able to speak and understand English competently and to understand written and oral instructions in English
- Must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment associated with the duties required for the position
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy, and patience with residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers in the workplace
