Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Preventive Maintenance Specialist to join our team at The Arc of Southern Maryland. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of our properties to identify and address any maintenance issues or deficiencies.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the upkeep of our properties, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels of supplies and materials, and process purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and vendors to ensure that maintenance needs are met and that properties are maintained to a high standard.
  • Emergency Response: Be available to respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a background in building trades or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of building trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. Ability to read and follow blueprints and assembly instructions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Ability to pass a background check and obtain any necessary certifications or training.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a high level of quality in their work. The position will require regular travel to various properties, and the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
