Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Multiple Subjects Teacher to join our team at Making Waves Academy. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective instruction for our students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging and challenging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, aligned with Common Core and California State curricular standards.
  • Establish and maintain a well-organized and structured classroom environment that promotes student learning and engagement.
  • Manage classroom behavior and implement restorative justice practices to create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to inform them about student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and drive student success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required; valid California Single or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in Subject Area is required.
  • English Learner (EL) Authorization Certificate; applicants without credentials or an EL designation will also be considered.
  • Passing scores on CBEST and CSET required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree desirable; Spanish language proficiency preferred.
